Dedication of the New Testament in the Arli, Gurbet and Chergash Romani Dialects

On April 8, International Roma Day, a historic dedication service for the New Testament in the Arli, Gurbet and Chergash Romani dialects was held in Leskovac, Serbia. This milestone marks the culmination of many years of faithful work by translators, Bible consultants, exegetes, language specialists, and numerous partners serving together through The Word For The World (TWFTW).

The celebration brought together TWFTW leaders, church leaders, translators, partners, and guests from Serbia and many other countries, reflecting the unity and collaboration behind this remarkable achievement. Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to meet members of the Roma community, experience their culture, and witness firsthand the life-changing impact of God's Word being received in the language of the heart.

For many Roma believers, this was far more than a formal dedication ceremony. It was the first opportunity to receive and read the New Testament in their own dialect, making Scripture more personal, understandable, and accessible than ever before. The joy, gratitude, and emotion shared by those receiving God's Word demonstrated the lasting significance of Bible translation for both individuals and entire communities.

The dedication of the New Testament in the Arli, Gurbet and Chergash dialects stands as a testimony to God's faithfulness and to the power of collaboration between local translation teams and international partners. It is a historic milestone that will continue to strengthen the Church and impact generations of Roma people through the transforming message of the Gospel.
